GREAT animation technique; but i dont get what the bloody story is about. total mindfucked story; not in a good way kind....

HugoVRB responds:

Haha dude I have no idea.
Thanks by the way (:

meh. moral is to mainstream. i like it. i wonder if theres any technique that u used to help animating this particular style much easier... good job nonetheless... good choice of music. keep it up!

Pahgawk responds:

Basically, I drew everything with the pencil tool, and once it was all coloured, I enabled "select multiple frames", selected everything, and then disabled the line colour in the colour panel to remove all the lines.

clever story telling

obviously 8 months was well spent in doing this, espcially with the cut art thingy.
the narration well rlly well done, but it wont hurt if u made basic film narration like establishing shot/180 degree rule etc.

overall, good job!

ClockworkPixel responds:

thanks alot

Not rlly an animation

experimental or not, limited animation to me r not rlly an animation.
u could have a rlly decent animation going on here if u spend more time to do a frame by frame animation...

overall, i like the idea, but the shortness of the clip did not back up by decent animation or artwork. do more practice! :)

Schutkid responds:

I'm not sure if you realize this...But this is the practice?

NOT SYNCH

love the animation, the style is good, the angle in most of the action r awesome.
but i think ur sound did not synched wif ur animation...

u can fix this by go to
FILE > PUBLISH SETTING > FLASH tab > click "Set..." button at the audio (audio event & audio stream),

change the fps to ur animation fps...
:)

dbarnis responds:

Thanks! If you want to see a version that is synced please let me know. The SWF file won't sync up my sound since a lot of them are going on .

Glad you enjoyed!

simple lovely but...

I really love the character development in this piece, its quite rare for madness...
okay, the one of the most cool in this shorty was (beside the fighting) the flashback. i like how u put into artistic sense to it, using scribble lines etc.

what i dissapointed in this was that u use the same ol' madness side view approachment. by seeing ur ability to animate, you should move on to normal animation which will be so much more original and aesthetic value.

overall, keep doing what u do best, but move on to the next level... :D

tomtyke responds:

that is what alot of my friends say, but, sadly, i've only been animating for abot 12 months, and have yet to take a lesson on it (i really should get onto that). so what i can do is extremely limited. i am however doing some persoal experiments with distances and 3d panning..... but in 2 years im going to be in 2nd year uni with an elective of animation, so expect quality to take a jump then ;3

not bad, not so entertaining

GOOD SIDE
- nice touch of "the unexpected" of the butterfly with sword/knife
- fire loop
- nice story/character development

BAD SIDE
- bad butterfly loop
- too slow paced
- silences in the movie make it boring to some ppl

yeah, thats about it, i rlly like the story diea maybe try to get to the point so u'll catch more ppl attention. good luck man

exotworking responds:

You are definitely right about the butterfly animation :3
